Eighteen suspects were detained in an operation targeting a profit-driven organized crime group in Istanbul. A large number of weapons and ammunition were seized during the operation.

In Istanbul, during an operation against an organized crime group for profit, 18 suspects identified as being involved in various crimes were detained, and a large number of weapons and ammunition were seized. According to the information received, teams from the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Organized Crime Fighting Branch conducted an operation against a profit-driven gang based on an investigation carried out by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

GANG LEADER IN PRISON

In the police operations targeting an armed criminal organization, predominantly active in the Anatolian side of the city, many gang members were identified, led by M.İ.Ö., who is imprisoned.

SIMULTANEOUS RAID CONDUCTED

After technical and physical surveillance, a simultaneous operation was carried out this morning to capture the suspects identified as being involved in various crimes. In the raids, 18 suspects were captured and detained.

During the searches conducted at the addresses, 5 unlicensed handguns, 1 shotgun, 97 rounds of ammunition of different calibers, 5 rifle cartridges, and various checks and promissory notes were seized. The individuals detained as part of the operation were taken to the Istanbul Police Department for their statements to be taken. The investigation processes are ongoing.
