The toll from the ongoing clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan since last night has increased. Pakistan's Interior Minister Talal Chaudhry announced that 7 targets were hit in airstrikes against ISIS positions in Afghanistan, resulting in the deaths of at least 70 terrorists.
Pakistan's Interior Minister Talal Chaudhry stated regarding the airstrikes conducted by Pakistan against the terrorist organization ISIS on Afghan territory, "Pakistan hit 7 different targets, at least 70 terrorists were killed."
PAKISTAN STRIKES AFGHANISTAN
The tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan suddenly peaked. Pakistan carried out attacks on ISIS targets in Afghanistan. Pakistan's Interior Minister Talal Chaudhry made a statement about the attacks.
"AT LEAST 70 TERRORISTS WERE KILLED"
Chaudhry noted that the attacks were carried out based on intelligence, reporting that 7 points belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistani Taliban, and the ISIS Khorasan branch were hit along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Chaudhry said, "As part of the operations, Pakistan hit seven different targets and at least 70 terrorists were killed. There is substantial evidence that most of the killed terrorists were Pakistani."
"AFGHANISTAN DID NOT KEEP ITS PROMISES, DID NOT STOP TERRORISM"
Recalling the agreements made in 2020 in Doha, Qatar, Chaudhry pointed out that the Taliban promised the world that they would not allow their territory to be used for terrorism. "However, Afghanistan and its government did not keep their promises and did not stop terrorism," he said.
Emphasizing that Pakistan hosts thousands of Afghan refugees and continues to be a responsible state that also provides economic assistance to Afghanistan, Chaudhry expressed that Pakistan desires to establish better relations with its neighbors.
"WE WILL ANNOUNCE A CALCULATED RESPONSE AT THE RIGHT TIME"
The Afghan side stated that 25 people, mostly civilians, lost their lives in the eastern provinces of Paktika and Nangarhar due to Pakistan's attacks. Afghan Government Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid stated that Pakistan is trying to compensate for the security vulnerabilities in their country by targeting women and children.
In a statement made by the Afghan Ministry of Defense, it was said, "The Pakistani army, which continues its previous aggressions, has carried out airstrikes on various civilian settlements and a school in the eastern provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika, causing the deaths and injuries of dozens of innocents, including women and children. The ministry strongly condemns this action. It is aware that this action is contrary to international law, good neighborly principles, and Islamic values. The ministry sees defending the country's sovereignty and protecting its people as a religious and national responsibility and will announce a calculated response at the appropriate time. The airstrikes by the Pakistani army on civilians demonstrate the failure of Pakistani intelligence, and these attacks cannot hide their internal failures."
