Speaking at the AK Party's parliamentary group meeting, President Erdoğan stated, "We will achieve our economic goals by implementing our budget, which is the product of great effort, without compromise. The year 2026 will be a year of reform for our country. We will implement our Turkey Century reform program with the support of our Parliament."
President Erdoğan spoke at the AK Party's parliamentary group meeting.
Erdoğan, who announced that the number of members of his party has reached 11 million 543 thousand 301, made the following evaluations:
"Our AK Party has maintained its position at the top in 2025 as well. We outperformed the main opposition party, which is in second place, again this year. The difference in the number of members between us and the CHP is more than 9.6 million. First of all, I would like to thank each of our 11 million 543 thousand 301 members who have a heart for the AK Party. I sincerely congratulate all members of our organization who contributed to this success.
"I SAY YOU HAVE HONORED OUR REPRESENTATIVES WHO WE WILL EMBRACE"
Emphasizing that the AK Party will continue to grow with new memberships, Erdoğan said, "I say welcome to our representatives, whom we will embrace with love by putting on their badges shortly."
President Erdoğan continued his speech as follows:
"Our door is open to everyone who wants to serve their country and nation. It will always be open. God willing, from now on, we will continue on our path with determination, strengthening our ranks and sticking together as the AK Party and the People's Alliance. As the AK cadres, we will always keep in mind the meaningful words of the master Necip Fazıl, which are our compass in politics. What did that great poet say? 'To leave works like giants, one must work like ants.'
Yes, we will repay our debt of gratitude to our people by working harder, producing more services and works, and running more. Indeed, we are sincerely striving to do this. In the year 2025, just like the last 23 years, we worked tirelessly for our nation, day and night. In a period when the opposition had no actions other than street demonstrations, we served all of Turkey with love, following the principle that 'Those who work with love do not get tired.'
God willing, shortly we will share the summaries of these with our esteemed nation watching us on their screens. We will not care about the person at the head of the CHP and the group that causes citizens to suffer due to their laziness in the municipalities they manage, nor will we pay attention to their cheap provocations that have become tiresome; we will focus on our work. Today, without engaging in polemics, without resorting to verbosity or wordplay, we will speak again with our works and our services.
Before moving on to our 2025 report card, I pray to God that the year 2026, which we welcomed with great hopes, brings goodness to all our organizations and our entire nation and humanity together with you, our representatives. I wish success and ease in the new year to all the members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and the assembly staff who serve the country under this roof.
We have left behind another year that has been quite intense in the context of regional and global developments. In the year 2025, where crises, conflicts, and tensions were prevalent in many parts of the world, we have, thank God, taken the best care of the nation's trust. I would like to express with pleasure that in none of the sensitive processes we had to manage did we compromise even a grain of Turkey's interests.
"WE HAVE PASSED A VERY SUCCESSFUL EXAM BOTH AT HOME AND ABROAD"
From the fifth year of the Russia-Ukraine War to the genocide in Gaza; from attacks on our neighbor Iran to the humanitarian disaster in Sudan; from our relations with America and Europe to our strengthening cooperation with the Turkish world; from our stance in the operation in Qatar; to the efforts for a terrorism-free Turkey and the demonstrations that terrorized our streets after March 19, we have passed a very successful exam in every field, both at home and abroad. We have always prioritized the safety of Turkey and the future of our nation. Despite all the challenges and difficulties we faced throughout the year, we did not bow our heads as the AK Party and the People's Alliance. We have always acted in a manner befitting the greatness, glory, dignity, and reputation of Turkey and the Turkish nation.
"WE DREW THE LOT FOR 455 THOUSAND DISASTER HOUSING BEFORE THE YEAR ENDS"
In 2025, our top priority was the reconstruction of the earthquake zone. We experienced the joy of keeping our promises to the earthquake victims by drawing the lots for 455 thousand disaster housing before the year ends. Thank God, we did not let down the trust placed in us. My brothers; look, we did not just build houses, workplaces, and residences; we also built hopes in the earthquake zone. I wish the homes we delivered to their rightful owners to be beneficial and auspicious. We will continue our remaining work in the earthquake zone at the same pace in the new year.
On this occasion, I hope that our Central Government Budget, which was negotiated and decided upon in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and came into effect at the beginning of the year, will bring goodness to our country and nation. We prepared the 2026 budget, which amounts to approximately 19 trillion lira, with a vision aimed at increasing the welfare of 86 million, prioritizing development, and focusing on a human-centered production and export economy, just like our previous 23 budgets. I sincerely congratulate all our friends who worked with remarkable dedication despite the provocations of the opposition throughout the budget marathon, the Nationalist Movement Party group, our cabinet members, and our bureaucrats.

I have stated before; the year 2026 will be a year of reform for our country, do not forget. With the support of our Assembly, we will hopefully implement the Turkey Century reform program, the general framework of which we announced at our grand congress. In addition, we will introduce reforms that touch the lives of our people across a wide range, from protecting our children from digital threats to re-evaluating our social assistance system.
"WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF A CRUEL DIVISION FIGHT WHERE THOSE NOT AT THE TABLE ARE PUT ON THE MENU"
Look, I must emphasize this: We are all following the serious threats that the world and our region are facing.
The global economy is rapidly being dragged into a new battle that will be fought over precious metals and will cause significant pain. It appears that a new competition for the acquisition of energy resources and trade routes will be experienced in a very aggressive manner. The Western world is losing all the arguments it has used for years to threaten and discipline other countries, one by one. We are right in the middle of a ruthless struggle for distribution where what is not on the table is put on the menu.
The team that will bring Turkey safely to the shore from this increasingly intense global storm is clear. The name of this team is the AK Party and the People's Alliance. The guarantee of a strong Turkey is a strong AK Party and a strong People's Alliance. The will, experience, and courage to disrupt imperialist games are abundantly present in this team, in this alliance. Therefore, whatever we do, we will do it not for ourselves, but for all of Turkey.
"THE INCOMPETENTS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE WATER TO OUR ANKARA FOR WEEKS"
We will do this to ensure that this nation is not left to the mercy of the incompetents who have been unable to provide even water to the capital Ankara for weeks while showering citizens with promises in the squares during election time. We will do this for the millions of our citizens who have been victimized by those who have turned municipalities into a source of insatiable ambitions.
"WE WILL DISAPPOINT THOSE WHO EXPECT US TO STUMBLE"
We will do this to ensure that the careless who have made municipal budgets unable to pay salaries do not infest our cities again. We will do this to send low-quality and low-caliber politicians who consider complaining about their countries to foreigners as a skill to the dusty shelves of history. We will do this to bury the unconscious who think they are sending us messages on behalf of their bosses through tasteless photos at the ballot box. We will also do this for the peace, prosperity, and security of the oppressed and victims whose eyes light up with hope when they hear Turkey's name. We will do this for our dear youth, who are the guarantee of our future, to live in a more prosperous and reputable country. We will do this for 86 million people, for more than 7 million of our brothers abroad, and for hundreds of millions of our friends in our cultural and geographical region. Above all, we will do this to turn all the elements of the Turkey Century into reality. We will again disappoint those who expect the AK Party and the People's Alliance to stumble.
"WE HAVE NOT BEEN LIKE THOSE WHO MADE OUR PEOPLE EXPERIENCE KERBALA"
I address both those in this magnificent hall and those watching us on their screens. Being accountable to the public is an indispensable condition of democracy. We are a team that has made it a principle to be accountable to our nation not only at the ballot box but also in different arenas. In our visits to provinces and districts, in our speeches after cabinet meetings, and in our group meetings, we shared both our dreams and goals and explained to our nation one by one how much of these we have achieved. We believe in ourselves, we trust ourselves, and we believe that we stand by the promises we made to our nation. We have not been like those who sell dreams in the squares, distribute promises generously, and make millions of our people experience Kerbala in the winter of 2026 Turkey. We did not make promises to our people that we could not fulfill. If we made a promise, we mobilized all our resources to keep it this time.
