PUTIN'S FIRST COMMENT ON GAZA CEASEFIRE
During the approximately half-hour press conference, Putin answered journalists' questions about global issues and made important statements regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's policies.
Evaluating Trump's Gaza Plan, which aims to end the war between Israel and Hamas and establish a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Putin said, "We may need to participate in the peace process. Russia has something to offer to solve the problem in Gaza. Russia may have proposals to address any disruptions that may arise during the implementation of the agreements reached."
"THE MAIN ISSUE IS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PALESTINIAN STATE"
In response to journalists reminding him of Trump's words that Russia supports them regarding the Gaza Plan, Putin said, "The main issue is the establishment of a Palestinian state. I have not examined the plan in detail. However, it is foreseen that the administration in Gaza will be transferred to Palestine over time, and a peacekeeping force will be established to ensure security. The situation in the Middle East is very striking. If Trump can implement the plan he is trying to carry out, it would be a historic success."
"TRUMP IS SINCERELY DETERMINED TO SOLVE THE CRISIS IN UKRAINE"
In response to a question about whether U.S. President Donald Trump deserves to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, Putin said, "It is not for me to say whether the U.S. President deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, but Trump has been doing a lot to resolve long-standing crises. I believe that Trump is determined and sincere in solving the crisis in Ukraine. He has been successful in some areas and not in others, but he is striving to resolve difficult crises."
