According to Oxu.Az, before the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Collective Security Council meeting, Putin participated in a cultural tour organized for leaders at the Ala-Archa state residence and wanted to try it himself after seeing a komuz master perform.

Russian President Vladimir Putin took the komuz in his hands and tried to play it. During the moments when Putin was trying to produce a few notes, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stood right next to him, watching these moments with a smile.
