Following reports that the U.S. wanted to incite Kurdish groups against Iran, a series of statements came from Kurdish sides. The President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Iraq, Masoud Barzani, stated, "We will continue to do our best to keep the KRG away from war, disasters, and suffering." Meanwhile, the wife of the Iraqi President, Shanaz, said, "We are not hired guns. The Kurds are only remembered when their strength or sacrifices are needed."

The war that began with the attacks of the US and Israel on Iran has led to successive statements from Kurdish sides following claims that the US plans to arm Iranian Kurdish opposition groups and send them to fight against Tehran.

"WE ARE NOT MERCENARY WEAPONS"

The wife of the President of Iraq, Shanaz, stated in a written statement, "Empty promises are evident. The Kurds are often only remembered when their strength or sacrifices are needed. Therefore, I call on all parties involved in this conflict. Leave the Kurds alone. We are not mercenary weapons," she said.

"WE WANT DISPUTES TO BE RESOLVED PEACEFULLY"

Masoud Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Iraq, stated in his remarks, "We hope that all issues and disputes in the region will be resolved peacefully. We will continue to do our best to keep the Kurdistan Region (IKBY) away from war, disasters, and suffering," he expressed.

"THE KURDISTAN REGION WILL NOT BE A SOURCE OF CONCERN FOR OUR NEIGHBORS"

The KDP Politburo also made a written statement following the claims in the international press that "the Washington administration plans to arm Kurdish groups against Iran." The statement said, "A war has erupted that the Kurdistan Region (IKBY) is not a part of, creating a tense situation. The Kurdistan Region has not been and will not be a source of concern for our neighbors. We will continue to act in this direction. It is also our right to expect the same from our neighbors," it was stated.
