Grammy and Oscar-winning artist Billie Eilish has made headlines with her criticisms of billionaires. At the 2025 Wall Street Journal Innovator Awards ceremony held in New York, the famous singer addressed wealthy individuals in her speech, stating, "If you have money, use it for good things."
$11.5 MILLION DONATION
During the ceremony held on Wednesday night, October 29, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Eilish pledged to donate $11.5 million (approximately £8.7 million) to charities. This year's event honored individuals who have "changed the rules of the game" in their respective fields.
Among the winners were Spike Lee (Film), Ben Stiller (Entertainment), Hailey Bieber (Beauty), Priscilla Chan (Philanthropy in Science), and Mellody Hobson and George Lucas (Design).
"WE NEED EMPATHY MORE THAN EVER"
During the night, Eilish, who won the "Music Innovator Award," highlighted global inequalities in her speech on stage. The artist, who has long campaigned for animal rights and climate justice, called for empathy from the wealthiest segments of society.
