An attention-grabbing statement has come from Nizamettin Kabaiş, the father of university student Rojin Kabaiş, whose lifeless body was found on the beach 18 days after she went missing in Van. "It was previously stated that blood was found on Rojin's tank top. They focused on the possibility of Rojin being involved. We were told that the blood on her tank top belonged to another woman. Let them identify who these people are and give them the heaviest punishment," he said.

Rojin Kabaiş, a first-year student in the Department of Child Development at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Education, went missing after leaving the dormitory on September 27. An investigation was launched after there was no news from Kabaiş. Rojin's lifeless body was found on October 15 at the beach in Mollakasım neighborhood of İpekyolu district. While the investigation continues, a report prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institution's Biology Specialization Department has been added to the case file.

INVESTIGATION INTO ROJİN'S DEATH CONTINUES

The report stated that DNA profiles belonging to two different male individuals were detected in samples taken from Rojin's chest area, referred to as 'Sternal region', and from the 'intra vaginal 5', which is the inner vaginal area, mixed with the deceased's DNA. Following this, DNA samples were taken from a total of 134 individuals who were deemed to have intervened during the autopsy process after the body was taken from the crime scene to the Van Forensic Medicine Group Presidency Morgue. The report prepared by the 5th Forensic Medicine Specialization Board indicated that the samples taken did not match the two DNA samples found, and it was determined that no contamination was detected.

"THERE ARE TRACES OF THE KILLERS, BUT NO ARRESTS"

Nizamettin Kabaiş, stating that there was also bloodstain on his daughter Rojin's tank top, said: "We have been suffering this pain for 13 months. Why has the case come to this point and why is it being conducted so inadequately? We came from Van yesterday. We met with the Chief Public Prosecutor along with our lawyers. We requested that the investigations be expedited. We asked why the phone was not answered. They told us they would send it to Portugal first and then to Spain. There are traces of the killers, but there are no arrests."

"IT WAS SAID THAT THE BLOOD ON ROJİN'S TANK TOP BELONGED TO ANOTHER WOMAN"

Two male DNA profiles were found from Rojin. Later, DNA was taken from 134 individuals. It did not match, and it was confirmed that there was no contamination. We were previously told that blood was detected on Rojin's tank top. They considered the possibility of it being Rojin's. However, 20 days after they told us, we went back to Van. We were told that the blood on Rojin's tank top belonged to another woman. I requested the Chief Public Prosecutor to conduct DNA testing on all the men at the university, as well as all the men in Çardakçı and Molla Kasım villages. No one should misunderstand this, but this is what needs to be done. Because her phone and lifeless body were found there. Whose blood is that woman’s? The state can determine this. I have no strength left to endure. Let them identify these individuals and give the heaviest punishment," he stated.

"IDENTIFICATION NEEDS TO BE MADE"

The family's lawyer, Zeynep Demir, expressed that identification should be made with the sample taken from the detected blood, stating, "A previous blood stain could not be identified at the Forensic Medicine Institution due to the degradation of the DNA profile. There is no identification regarding whose it is, but it has been definitively determined that the blood belongs to a woman. To resolve the contradiction there, it is necessary to identify whose blood it is."
