Three members of the Bocek family, including two children, lost their lives due to food poisoning from mussels and kumpir they consumed in Istanbul. Following this incident, a striking fact about the establishment emerged. It was revealed that Serdar Ortaç and Yusuf Güney had also dined at the same restaurant prior to the poisoning incident.
The holiday of the Böcek family, living in Germany, turned into a nightmare in Turkey. The 6-year-old son, Muhammet Böcek, and 3-year-old daughter, Masal Böcek, along with their 27-year-old mother, Çiğdem Böcek, were hospitalized with complaints of vomiting and nausea after staying at a hotel in Ortaköy. It was learned that the father has been intubated.
THE BUSINESS HAS BEEN SEALED
Following the tragedy, there was a backlash against the business in question. While the investigation related to the incident is ongoing, a written statement was released by the Beşiktaş Municipality.
The statement from the municipality included the following remarks: "The news that the Böcek family, who came from Germany to Istanbul, was hospitalized with suspected food poisoning and that 2 children lost their lives has deeply saddened us all."
