Second hearing in the Narin Güran murder case: Defendants were brought to the courthouse.

On the 19th day since Narin Güran was found dead in a riverbed in Diyarbakır, her uncle, mother, and brother, along with their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, who was identified as having carried the body, are being tried for murder with aggravated life imprisonment. They will appear before the judge for the second time today. The defendants have been brought to the courthouse ahead of the hearing, where a decision is expected to be made.

The uncle of 8-year-old Narin Güran, Salim Güran, who is being tried for the aggravated life imprisonment sentence related to the murder that Turkey is closely following, along with his mother Yüksel Güran, his brother Enes Güran, and their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, who was identified as having carried the body, will appear before the judge for the second time today. Extensive security measures have been taken around the courthouse and courtroom before the hearing, where a decision is expected, and 3 people, including 1 detained, will be heard as witnesses.

The hearing, which will start at 09:00, will have entry and exit controlled by the police, and those wishing to enter will be subjected to a body search.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, was found dead in the Eğertutmaz stream on September 8. As part of the investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 12 out of 23 suspects, including mother Yüksel, brother Enes, uncle Salim Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, were arrested.

The investigation against Yüksel, Enes, and Salim Güran, as well as Nevzat Bahtiyar, has been completed, and the indictment prepared for 4 defendants for the crime of "intentional murder of a child in participation" was accepted by the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court on October 23.

The trial of the defendants began on November 7, and the first hearing, which lasted 3 days, was postponed to December 26 with a decision to continue the detention of the defendants. After the first hearing, the public prosecutor submitted a 14-page opinion to the court during the recess.
