With the decision published under the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, many deputy ministers were changed in the Ministries of Justice and Interior. Among those appointed as Deputy Minister of Interior is Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı, the Governor of Afyonkarahisar. Yiğitbaşı, who has served as the Governor of Afyonkarahisar for 4 years and has achieved successful projects, has not gone unnoticed for her rapid rise over the years.
In accordance with the decision published with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a change of duties has been made in the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior. With this decision, 4 deputy ministers were changed in the Ministry of Justice, while the deputy ministers in the Ministry of Interior were also reappointed.
THREE NAMES CHANGED IN THE INTERIOR MINISTRY According to the published decision, Ali Çelik, Mehmet Cangir, and Afyonkarahisar Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı were appointed in place of Deputy Ministers of Interior Münir Karaloğlu, Mehmet Aktaş, and Mehmet Sağlam.
Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı had thanked President Erdoğan for the freedom of headscarves years ago on Kanal 7 screens. SHE HAD SERVED AS THE FIRST HEADSCARVED GOVERNOR Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı was appointed as the Governor of Afyonkarahisar in 2022, becoming Turkey's first headscarf-wearing governor. Yiğitbaşı is expected to start her new duty today.
CAREER JOURNEY Born in 1979, Yiğitbaşı graduated from the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department of the Faculty of Communication at Ankara University after attending Imam Hatip High School. She served as an assistant professor and associate professor in the Journalism Department of the Faculty of Communication at Marmara University.
GOVERNOR OF AFYONKARAHISAR FOR 4 YEARS Appointed to the General Assembly of the Press Advertisement Institution from the presidential quota in 2019, Yiğitbaşı took office as the Deputy Minister of Family and Social Services in 2021. Having served as the Governor of Afyonkarahisar since 2022, Yiğitbaşı has been appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Interior with the latest decision.
