After the final whistle of the amateur football match played in Bilecik, a fight broke out, and as a result of the events, 3 football players were hospitalized.
In the 8th week match of Bilecik 1st Amateur League Group A, Akpınarspor faced Gülümbespor at Bozüyük Yeşilkent Synthetic Field. The match ended with a score of 2-2, while the area turned into a battlefield after the final whistle. The fight that started among the players later involved Akpınarspor fans as well. Three players from Gülümbespor were injured in various parts of their bodies. While the police struggled to control the situation, the Gülümbespor side filed a complaint. The three injured players received medical reports for the assault, and Gülümbespor President Ergün Akbal reacted to the events.
LEGAL COMPLAINT FILED
Gülümbespor President Ergün Akbal stated in a press release regarding the issue, "An attack on our players occurred after the away match against Akpınarspor. As a result of this attack, some of our players were injured and received medical reports for the assault. All legal complaints regarding this incident have been filed, and we will continue to follow up. The referees, who failed to prevent such attacks that should not occur on the football field and lost control during the match, have a significant share in this incident," he said.
PLAYER WHO RECEIVED A RED CARD ENTERED THE FIELD AND INJURED PLAYERS
Akbal expressed his dissatisfaction with the penalties given after the incidents, stating:
"Unfortunately, as seen in today's statements, the fact that only a 3-match penalty was given despite the attacks of the opposing team players on our players has been the last straw. It is prohibited for a player who received a red card to re-enter the field at the end of the match; the public is curious about what information, knowledge, and authority the 3-match penalty given to this player, who entered the field and injured our players, was based on. The decision made in an environment where the injured players will require stitches and receive medical reports is unacceptable. We want the public to know that we stand against this unfair competition that has arisen in Bilecik and that we will raise our voices to the fullest. The footage of the attack we suffered has been submitted to the law enforcement agencies, and whatever is necessary will be done within the framework of justice to ensure that the perpetrators receive the punishment they deserve."
