In many parts of Turkey, temperatures have dropped below zero. While Rize, Kastamonu, Erzurum, Kars, Bolu, and Düzce have been covered in white, the expected snowfall has also begun in Uludağ.

With the drop in air temperatures in the Eastern Black Sea region, snow fell on the high-altitude plateaus and villages in the area. The Yukarı Kavron, Huser, and Palovit plateaus at an altitude of 2,300 meters in the Çamlıhemşin district of Rize, along with the villages in the region, were covered in white. The snow thickness, reaching between 5 and 20 centimeters in places, covered the green areas with a white blanket.

In Erzurum, the air temperature dropped to minus 4 degrees, while the high areas were covered with a white blanket. Faruk Taber, who was cleaning the snow off his car, said, "The snow has started to show itself slowly. The heaters have been on at home for about two weeks. This is Erzurum; you never know when it will snow." The snowfall particularly delighted the children going to school in the morning.

KELTEPE SEASON HAS STARTED

The Keltepe Ski Center in Karabük was covered with a white blanket of snow with the cold air coming from Russia and the first snow of the season. Villagers collected mushrooms under the snowfall and recorded the snowfall.

YILDIZ MOUNTAIN TURNED WHITE

In Yıldız Mountain, the winter tourism center of Sivas, the snowfall that started last night was effective intermittently. The ski center, located 58 kilometers away from the city, has two chairlifts at altitudes of 2,226 and 1,636 meters, a 804-meter ski lift, ski slopes of varying lengths, a sledding slope, a moving walkway, and T-bar facilities, as well as a hotel, café, and restaurant. Meanwhile, cold weather is also affecting the city center.

RAIN TURNED INTO SNOW IN KARS

In the Sarıkamış district of Kars, the cold weather and rain that were effective throughout the day gave way to snowfall. The snow, which started in the evening, quickly covered the high areas in white. While the snowfall continued intermittently at the Sarıkamış Ski Center, the air temperature also dropped noticeably.

HEAVY SNOWFALL IN KASTAMONU

While heavy rain was effective in the center of Kastamonu, heavy snowfall increased its impact in the high areas of the city. In the high areas of Devrekani, Seydiler, Ağlı, and Küre districts, as well as the road routes connecting Abana, Bozkurt, and Çatalzeytin districts to the city center, the snow thickness at the Isırganlık and 1450-meter-high Yaralıgöz Pass approached 10 centimeters. Some vehicles skidded off the road, while others were able to continue on the road thanks to the efforts of the teams. After the snowfall, the highways and provincial special administration teams started snow plowing operations.

THE FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON FELL IN ULUDAG

Meanwhile, the high areas of Düzce, Bolu, and Bursa also received their share of the cold weather and snowfall. The expected snowfall has begun in Uludağ, one of the favorite centers of winter tourism.
