An investigation conducted at the home of Mehmet Karabulut, who jumped from the 7th floor of an apartment in Eskişehir and was injured, revealed a horrifying truth. It was determined that Sevim Özdemir, found motionless in the house, had been strangled to death, while Karabulut, who was hospitalized for treatment, confessed to the murder. The suspect was arrested and sent to prison.
It has been revealed that Mehmet Karabulut (58), who jumped from the window of his apartment on the 7th floor in Eskişehir, strangled his wife Sevim Özdemir (50) to death at home. Karabulut, who was hospitalized for treatment, confessed his crime during police interrogation. The suspect was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison.
JUMPED FROM THE WINDOW, POLICE FOUND A BODY IN THE HOUSE
The incident occurred on February 27 in the Zafer neighborhood of the Tepebaşı district. Mehmet Karabulut, who jumped from the window of his apartment on the 7th floor, first hit the awning on the 2nd floor and then fell into the garden, injuring himself. Upon notification from neighbors, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
DIED DAYS AGO
When the police entered the house to check where Karabulut had jumped from, they found his wife Sevim Özdemir motionless inside. The initial examination revealed that Özdemir had died a few days earlier. Injured Mehmet Karabulut was taken by ambulance to Yunus Emre State Hospital, while Sevim Özdemir's lifeless body was taken to the morgue of Eskişehir City Hospital for an autopsy.
An autopsy conducted at the Forensic Medicine Institution determined that Sevim Özdemir had been strangled to death a few days earlier. Following this, the investigation carried out by the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continued under the scope of murder.
CONFESSED TO THE MURDER
A detention order was issued for Mehmet Karabulut, whose treatment was completed. In his statement taken at the Eskişehir Police Department, Karabulut confessed that he had strangled his wife to death.
After his procedures at the police station, Mehmet Karabulut was referred to the courthouse and was arrested for the crime of "intentional killing of a spouse" and sent to prison. The investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
