In an accident caused by a rope on a boat with three people who wanted to set sail from Pendik Marina, one person lost their balance and fell into the sea, getting caught in the propeller. The seriously injured individual passed away in the hospital where they were taken.
Three people who wanted to set sail from Pendik Marina in Istanbul were involved in an accident due to a rope. On Sunday, November 16, it was claimed that A.K. (37) and M.T. were preparing to set sail with the boat managed by A.A.K. when the boat suddenly stopped because the rope was not untied.
FELL INTO THE WATER, GOT CAUGHT IN THE PROPELLER
At that moment, M.T. lost his balance and fell into the water, getting caught in the propeller. M.T. was pulled back onto the boat by his friends, and health teams were notified. Teams from the Sea Port Branch Directorate were also dispatched to the scene.
DIED
M.T., who received first aid on the boat, was taken to the hospital by ambulance in critical condition. Despite all interventions at the hospital, M.T. lost his life.
ARRESTED
After the accident, the boat captain A.A.K. was taken into custody by the police. After completing the procedures at the police station, the captain was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
Meanwhile, the footage captured by security cameras showed the boat setting sail, suddenly stopping, and turning back.
