A 5-month pregnant passenger on a Pegasus Airlines flight from Sabiha Gökçen to Gazipaşa gave birth prematurely on the plane. Unfortunately, the baby did not survive after birth. The pilot reported the situation to air traffic control, and the plane returned to Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

Pegasus Airlines' flight PC-2070, an Airbus A321, took off from Sabiha Gökçen Airport for the Gazipaşa route on Saturday, January 18. Shortly after takeoff, a passenger who was found to be 5 months pregnant suddenly fell ill. When it was understood that the passenger would give birth prematurely, an announcement was made for a doctor on board. The doctor present on the flight and the cabin crew assisted in the premature delivery. During the birth, the baby unfortunately lost its life, and the pilot of the aircraft communicated with the Sabiha Gökçen Airport Air Traffic Controller to inform them that they would be returning. In the pilot's communication with the air traffic controller, he reported that the 5-month pregnant passenger had given birth prematurely and that the baby had passed away. The aircraft landed safely at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, while the passenger who lost her baby was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The Boeing 737 successfully completed its landing at Sabiha Gökçen Airport. During this time, other passengers noticed that one passenger was motionless and reported the situation to the cabin crew. In the initial intervention, it was determined that the passenger had no pulse. Following this, the pilot of the aircraft contacted the air traffic controller, informing them that a passenger had no pulse and that an emergency ambulance was needed. Despite all interventions, the passenger without a pulse unfortunately passed away.
