Seren Serengil, her 20 yıl sonra eski eşi Cengiz İmren ile bir şarkıda buluştuğunu açıkladı ve klip ile stüdyo kayıtlarını ayrı ayrı gerçekleştirdiklerini belirtti. "Like fire and gunpowder, we decided not to come together," emphasizing the distance, said Serengil. Her boyfriend, Mustafa Rahman Toğma, reacted to the duet by saying, "What was the need for that?"
Seren Serengil announced that she and her ex-husband Cengiz İmren reunited years later on the Haber Bahane program, hosted by Gökay Kalaycıoğlu, which aired on Haberler.com. The song titled "Let's Reconcile Again," a joint project of the duo, was written 20 years ago but had never been released.
FROM WHATSAPP MESSAGES TO A SONG
The story of the song is based on an emotional past. Serengil explained that the WhatsApp messages exchanged between her and İmren years ago were transformed into song lyrics:
"At that time, our separation was contentious. The song was ready, but we didn't release it. 20 years later, the record company reminded us, and we recorded it again."
STUDIO AND CLIP WITHOUT MEETING
Seren Serengil and Cengiz İmren, one of the most talked-about couples of a past era, are back in the spotlight with a remarkable music project years later. In the song "Let's Reconcile Again," the duo performed a duet without physically coming together for either the music video shoots or the studio recordings.
"LIKE FIRE AND GUNPOWDER... WE SAID NOT TO MEET"
Seren Serengil stated in her remarks on the Haber Bahane program that although the song was written in the past, it has come to light with a new arrangement. However, she emphasized that they did not come together with Cengiz İmren either in the music video or during the reading rehearsals, explaining this distance as follows:
"Not coming together is actually something… You know, like fire and gunpowder, we said let's not come together, my friend!"
"TOHMA SAID 'WHAT WAS THE NEED?'
Serengil's boyfriend, Mustafa Rahman Toğma, with whom she has been together for seven years, initially approached the project with caution. The artist expressed her boyfriend's reaction with the following words:
"Tohma said to me, 'What was the need?' He was right because this is not a new project; it's a song from 20 years ago. But he trusts me. My biggest red line is infidelity. I have never cheated on anyone in my life, and I will never do so." Emphasizing that jealousy is natural but trust is above everything in relationships, Serengil stated, "He needs to know me. We won't come together; it's just a memory coming back to life."
