MHP General Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made a statement that will shake up the agenda of Ankara at his party's group meeting. Speaking about the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, Bahçeli said, "If the isolation is lifted, let him come and speak at the DEM Party Group Meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, let him proclaim that terrorism has completely ended and that the organization has been dissolved."

In response to Bahçeli's statements, Abdullah Öcalan's brother, Mehmet Öcalan, spoke to Odatv. Mehmet Öcalan stated that Devlet Bahçeli has been bringing this issue to the agenda for two weeks in a row. Mehmet Öcalan said: "For two weeks in a row, Devlet Bahçeli has been raising this issue. But there has been no word from Abdullah Öcalan for 4 years, in isolation. All communication with his lawyers has been cut off. I don't know, maybe he is speaking on the island. We cannot know. We hope that good things can happen for everyone. No one should deceive anyone. If there is a beautiful peace in a democratic way, we would be happy about it. What will happen is uncertain. We hope it will be good.
