The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested permission from the Ministry of Interior to investigate Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş as part of the investigation into the concerts organized by the municipality. The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested permission from the Ministry of Interior regarding Mansur Yavaş and his Chief of Staff Nevzat Uzunoğlu as part of the investigation initiated about the "concerts" organized by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

As part of the investigation into the concert expenses made by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality between 2021-2024, an indictment was prepared for 14 people, 5 of whom are detained, on charges of "qualified embezzlement." In the indictment, it was requested that 8 people be sentenced to up to 31.5 years and 6 people to up to 18 years in prison due to the repeated commission of the crime of qualified embezzlement.
REQUEST FOR INVESTIGATION PERMISSION FOR MANSUR YAVAŞ
According to information obtained from prosecutorial sources, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested the Ministry of Interior to grant permission for an investigation against Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş and his Chief of Staff Nevzat Uzunoğlu on charges of "abuse of office" and "neglect of supervisory duty."
MURAT EMİR: HOLD ACCOUNTABLE THOSE WHO SOLD ANKARA PIECE BY PIECE
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir reacted to the request for an investigation against Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Emir pointed to former mayor Melih Gökçek for the investigation.
In a post on his social media account, Emir stated, "We stand by our ABB President Mansur Yavaş, who returned Ankara's income to the people of Ankara and brought our capital out of the period of stagnation, and we will support him to the end. If you are looking for a place to hold accountable, you are at the wrong door. That door belongs to those who sold Ankara piece by piece."
TAŞCIER: YAVAŞ'S LIFE AND POLITICS ARE TRANSPARENT
CHP Deputy Chair Gamze Taşcıer stated in a post on her social media account, "The only capital of Mr. Mansur Yavaş, for whom the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested an investigation permission, is his honesty in politics. Those who slander him today have no counterpart in the conscience of our nation. The people of Ankara know that both Mansur Yavaş's life and politics are transparent. This nation knows very well who is trying to defame an honest manager and who is defending the rights of the people. That mud will remain in the hands of the thrower. Dirty politics will eventually be lost in the dustbin of history in the face of honesty."
BAŞARIR: NOT LEGAL BUT CLEARLY POLITICAL
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır stated in a post on his social media account, "We learned again from the media close to the government... The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested permission from the Ministry of Interior for an investigation against Mansur Yavaş regarding the concert investigation. This permission requested on the grounds of abuse of office is not legal, it is clearly political. We stand by Mansur Yavaş, who has been on the side of students, retirees, and the underprivileged until today. Are you aware that you are trying to open an investigation into the conscience of the people of Ankara? May those who fear you be like you!"
ZEYBEK: A HASTY BUTTON IS BEING PRESSED FOR A POLITICAL INVESTIGATION
CHP Deputy Chair Gökan Zeybek stated in a post on his social media account, "Mansur Yavaş is the paid water bill that a retiree says, 'thank God it hasn't been cut off today.' It is the medicine quietly taken by someone whose hand goes to their wallet and comes back. It is the closed credit book of the underprivileged who swallows their shame at the neighborhood grocery store. The nation knows very well who works honestly and who fills their pockets. Do not worry. They see, know, and take notes. No investigation is opened against those who sold Ankara piece by piece for years. A hasty button is pressed for a purely political investigation. On September 24, all your slanders were thrown back in your face one by one. The people of Ankara already dealt a blow of 60.43% on March 31. That blow was not just an election result. It was a slap against corruption, arrogance, and conspiracy. We understand your grudge, but this goal will not succeed. You are writing the book of disgrace. Ankara is with President Mansur. We stand by him to the end."
ÇİFTÇİ: WASTEFUL MUNICIPALITY IS BEING TARGETED
CHP Deputy Chair Gül Çiftci stated in a post on her social media account, "The request of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for investigation permission against our Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş is a new phase of judicial pressure. There is neither a legally valid justification nor a concrete finding of public harm. Nevertheless, the perception that is intended to be created with the request for 'investigation permission' targets honest, transparent, and waste-free municipality in Ankara. This 'political campaign' carried out with the request for investigation permission is directed not only at Mansur Yavaş but also at the will of the people of Ankara. We will fully support the stance of our Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who prioritizes the public good, and the will of the people of Ankara."
ÖZDAĞ: POLITICS CANNOT BE DESIGNED IN THE CORRIDORS OF THE COURT
Selçuk Özdağ, Group Deputy Chairman of the New Path Party, stated in a post on his social media account, "The government, which has been rumored to be sidelining potential political rivals through the judiciary for a long time, is doing everything it can to prove this claim right. It would be unwise to think that after being defeated multiple times in Istanbul by Ekrem İmamoğlu, the turn would not come to the strongest potential rival, Mansur Yavaş. Politicians' rivals are other politicians, not members of the judiciary. If you do not trust yourself, if you do not believe in the people, why are you doing politics? Politics is not done by fleeing the battlefield, nor is it designed in the corridors of the court. Politics is done honorably, and one does not hold onto those positions by shooting from behind others' shoulders. If you have a little confidence in yourselves, come to the battlefield, let the white sheep and the black sheep be known."
