Elements affiliated with the deposed Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria have launched an attack in coastal areas, particularly in Latakia and Tartus. Many security forces have lost their lives in the ensuing clashes, and the alarm level in the country has been raised.
ALL UNITS ARE BEING DEPLOYED TO THE CONFLICT AREAS
Syria's Defense Minister Murhev Ebu Kasra has instructed all military units to move to the conflict areas, to control the overall situation, and to protect civilians and state institutions. Reinforcement forces, including armored vehicles, have been dispatched to the conflict points.
INTENSE CLASHES ARE OCCURRING
Syria's official news agency SANA reported that elements of the deposed regime attacked security forces in the village of Beyt Ana in Latakia, resulting in the death of one security officer. The report also stated that an ambulance, which was moving to the scene to transport the dead and injured, was targeted by elements of the deposed regime. It was reported that security forces sent reinforcements to the village and clashes occurred with the mentioned elements in the area.
11 SECURITY FORCES HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES
According to local sources, at least 10 security officers have lost their lives in ongoing clashes near Hmeimim Airport and the Naval Academy in the Jableh district. Thus, a total of at least 11 security forces from the Syrian Army have died in the clashes that took place throughout the day. Reinforcement forces, including armored vehicles, have been dispatched to the conflict points. To protest the attack by the deposed regime elements, hundreds of people gathered in the squares in Idlib, Homs, Latakia, and Aleppo, as well as in Jableh.
Mustafa Kuneyfati, the Director of the General Security Administration in Latakia, stated, "Elements of the deposed regime carried out a planned attack on the road control points of the general security forces. Public institutions were damaged." Kuneyfati explained that the forces have been mobilized, the attack in the rural area of Jableh has been repelled, and clashes continue in the district center.
CURFEW HAS BEEN DECLARED IN TWO CITIES
On the other hand, a curfew has been imposed in Tartus province between 10:00 PM and 10:00 AM. In Homs, a curfew has been declared from tonight until Friday morning. Gayyas Delle, known as one of the groups ambushing security forces and identifying himself as the commander of the deposed regime's Gays Forces, announced that they have established a military council to overthrow the current administration.
The village of Beyt Ana, affiliated with Jableh, is also known as the hometown of Suheil al-Hassan, the commander of the "Tiger Forces," recognized for his massacres. The Syrian army had launched operations against elements of the deposed regime who refused to surrender their weapons in Latakia and Daraa provinces in the last two days.
