As the escalating war between the US-Israel and Iran and its allies increases tensions in the Middle East, a new attack in Lebanon has further worsened the toll. In an airstrike carried out by Israel on the town of Sir el Gharbiyeh, at least 20 people were reported dead, while the death toll in the region, excluding this attack, has reached 294.
As tensions rise in the Middle East, the Israeli army has launched a new airstrike targeting southern Lebanon. Lebanese officials reported that many people lost their lives in the attack.
THERE ARE MANY DEAD
At least 20 people were reported killed in the airstrike targeting the town of Sir el Gharbiyeh in southern Lebanon. Local sources reported significant destruction in the area following the attack and that search and rescue operations are ongoing.
SEARCHING FOR THOSE TRAPPED UNDER THE RUBBLE
Following the attack, numerous health and civil defense teams were dispatched to the scene, and efforts were made to reach those trapped under the rubble. Officials warned that the death toll could rise.
While the Israeli army has not yet provided detailed information regarding the attack, tensions in the region have escalated in recent days due to mutual attacks. Southern Lebanon has long been a focal point of the conflicts between Israel and Hezbollah.
ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON LEBANON
In a statement made by the Israeli army on March 2, it was noted that sirens were activated in the northern part of the country after detecting missile launches from Lebanon.
The Israeli army, which announced that it had initiated airstrikes across Lebanon and targeted the capital Beirut, had decided to expand its ground invasion in Lebanon, conducting intense attacks from the air and sea.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that since March 2, 294 people have been killed and 1,023 injured in the attacks carried out by Israel on Lebanon.
