The efforts were carried out with a special team established under the coordination of the Missing Persons Bureau.

While the teams from the Missing Persons Bureau continued their investigations, they noticed Hikmet Akçay's close relationship with one of his students, Esin B. (42), during the examination of the HTS records from 2006 when he was a mathematics teacher at a middle school in Bayrampaşa.

THE MISSING TEACHER'S MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT IN CUSTODY

Acting on the HTS records, the teams pursued Esin B., who had frequent phone contact with Hikmet Akçay. Consequently, simultaneous operations were conducted at addresses identified in Istanbul and Gaziantep. In the operations, a total of 4 suspects, including Esin B., who was a student of Hikmet Akçay at the middle school, were captured and taken into custody. The suspects were handed over to the teams of the Missing Persons Bureau of the Public Order Branch for statements and other procedures.

HER STATEMENT EMERGED

The statement of Esin B., one of the suspects brought to the Public Order Branch, was revealed. It was learned that in her statement to the police, Esin B. mentioned that her family's economic situation was not good during her middle school years, that her father did not care for her at all, and that her teacher Hikmet Akçay was aware of this situation.

"HE HAD STARTED TO GET JEALOUS OF ME"

Esin B. also stated that they lived in the same neighborhood as her teacher Hikmet Akçay, saying, "He was providing a lot of financial and moral support to me and my family back then. My family and I sometimes went to Hikmet's house. Later on, I would go alone. He was not married and had feelings for me emotionally. He had started to get jealous of me. After that, since I was young at that time, I did not have a relationship with him, but we always kept in touch. Later, I graduated from middle school and started high school. Until I finished high school, I would call him even if it was from home phones."

"I FELL IN LOVE OVER TIME TOO"

Esin B. also stated, "Later, while I was in high school, my family problems were still ongoing. My chemistry teacher in high school, Erdoğan Y. (63), treated me very well. He supported me in many ways. I fell in love with him over time. But he always approached me like a student and did not want to be with me because of my young age. I graduated from high school and then I got into the Physical Education Teaching department at Kocaeli University."

"HE THREATENED ME WHEN HE FOUND OUT ABOUT MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY HIGH SCHOOL CHEMISTRY TEACHER"

Esin B. continued in her statement that she was living alone at home while at university. Despite being in university, she continued to talk to Hikmet Akçay. When she was in her third year of university, she started a relationship with her high school chemistry teacher, Erdoğan Y. Erdoğan would come and go to her house. Hikmet Akçay, who was in love with her, learned about this situation and wanted to meet her. He wanted to come to Kocaeli to see her. When he came to her house and found out about her relationship with Erdoğan Y., he threatened her," she stated.

"WHEN HE THREATENED ME, HE GRABBED MY THROAT, I STABBED HIM"

Esin B. continued in her statement to the teams that Hikmet Akçay told her, "If you continue to be with Erdoğan, I will kill you, chop you up, and burn you in a suitcase." Esin B. said, "After this statement, we started to argue. He grabbed my throat. I pushed him, and he fell to the ground and fainted. I immediately went to the kitchen, took a knife, and stabbed him."

AFTER THE MURDER, SHE CALLED HER CLOSE FRIEND

It is alleged that Esin B., who stabbed Hikmet Akçay, panicked and called her close male friend from university, Zemçi S. (45), to help her. Esin B. and Zemçi S. took action to dispose of the body in the house.

After the murder committed in the house, Esin B. took Hikmet Akçay's house key and mobile phone from him and went to Akçay's house in Bayrampaşa. It is claimed that Esin B., who was threatened and blackmailed, searched for materials that Hikmet Akçay used against her but found nothing. Esin B. and Zemçi S. took a large red suitcase and set out with a vehicle to Kocaeli to dispose of Hikmet Akçay's body. Esin B. called her high school love, Erdoğan Y., and asked him to help her.
