The Presidency of Religious Affairs recently delivered striking messages to young people in its Friday sermon following allegations of drug use and prostitution that have surfaced in the public eye. The sermon emphasized that drugs, adultery, and prostitution "turn human life into a prison."

After the drug investigations that have taken center stage in Turkey and the operations targeting famous individuals, the messages conveyed by the Presidency of Religious Affairs in the Friday sermon drew attention. The sermon particularly addressed the youth, emphasizing the individual and societal effects of harmful habits.

CLEAR WARNING ABOUT DRUGS AND PROSTITUTION

In the sermon prepared for the Friday prayer, it was stated that drugs destroy the mind and health, while adultery and prostitution lead human life into an inextricable situation. The text highlighted the importance of worship, morality, and a sense of responsibility, stressing that making the right choices during the most productive period of their lives is crucial for the youth.

DIRECT MESSAGE TO THE YOUTH

The statements in the sermon emphasized that youth is both a great blessing and a serious responsibility. It was noted that time can be spent on worship, goodness, and beneficial deeds, but behaviors such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, and prostitution can darken both the individual's life and that of their surroundings. The Presidency of Religious Affairs expressed that with their choices, young people can either build a peaceful life or be dragged into a process filled with regret.

The sermon of the Presidency of Religious Affairs is as follows:

"O Young Brother!

You are living the most blessed period of the life granted to you. Among those mentioned by our Prophet (peace be upon him) who will be in the shade of the Throne on the Day of Judgment, when there is no shade, is you.[1] It is up to you to spend this period of your life with beneficial deeds that will lead to eternal happiness or with wrongdoings that you will later regret. It is also up to you to either bless your time by prostrating your forehead or to waste it with alcohol that covers your mind and drugs that endanger your health. It is up to you to spend your days in fasting and attain tranquility or to turn your life into a prison with adultery and prostitution. A small act of kindness you do or bringing joy to an orphan can make you a neighbor of our Prophet (peace be upon him) in the eternal realm, just as it is also up to you to turn both your life and that of your loved ones into a prison with gambling and games of chance."
