A violent incident at a hospital in India has sparked widespread outrage. A senior doctor repeatedly punched a patient who requested to be spoken to respectfully while lying in bed. The moments were captured on a mobile phone camera and quickly spread on social media.

The footage shows the defenseless patient in a hospital bed receiving a series of hard blows to the head. The patient, shielding his face with his arms, tries to push the doctor away with his feet to prevent the attack. At that moment, another doctor intervenes and struggles to stop the assailant.

The incident occurred at the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital in Shimla, located in northern India. It was revealed that the person who carried out the attack was Senior Assistant Doctor Raghav Narula, who was subsequently suspended from duty.

Thirty-six-year-old Arjun Panwar was admitted to the hospital due to difficulty breathing. After examinations, the doctors advised him to rest for a while and he was placed in bed. However, according to Panwar's claims, shortly after, the doctor who entered the room began to speak to him in a harsh and condescending manner.

Panwar expressed that he was disturbed by the way the doctor addressed him, which is considered disrespectful when used towards strangers. When he asked the doctor to speak more respectfully, the atmosphere became tense.

It was alleged that after the argument, the doctor suddenly lost control and attacked the patient.

Arjun Panwar recounted his experience to the press with the following words:

"After the tests, I was told I needed to rest, and I lay down in bed. After a while, Dr. Raghav came and started asking harshly why I was here and where my reports were. He was very rude to me. When I told him it was not right to speak to me that way, he suddenly got angry and started hitting me."

After the attack, Panwar, whose nose was bleeding, went to the police to file a complaint and reported the doctor.

Following the spread of the incident's footage on social media, the patient's relatives gathered in front of the hospital to protest. Family members demanded the doctor's arrest, stating that they would hold an indefinite protest if authorities did not take action.

The hospital management announced that the doctor had been temporarily suspended and that an official investigation had been initiated regarding the incident. In the initial examination, the doctor was found to be at fault.

The State Health Ministry also requested a report on the matter, while police teams opened an official investigation against the doctor.

Meanwhile, the doctor accused of the attack denied the allegations. He claimed that the patient had initially been disrespectful to him and argued that there was no intention of a deliberate attack, stating that he would provide his defense to the police.
