The Ministry of National Defense reported that among those who published the identities of the 20 soldiers who were martyred due to the crash of a military cargo plane on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border before the official announcement, there were also retired soldiers, and their access to military lodges has been banned. In the statement, these individuals were referred to as "social media shameless."
The Ministry of National Defense Press and Public Relations Advisor and Ministry Spokesperson Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk held an information meeting at the ministry regarding weekly activities. Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk stated that 3 PKK terrorists surrendered in the past week, saying, "Search and clearance operations in our borders and beyond; the detection and destruction of caves, shelters, hideouts, mines, and improvised explosive devices have continued, and the length of tunnels destroyed in the Syrian operation areas has reached 725 kilometers. In our borders, 205 people, including 6 members of terrorist organizations, have been captured while attempting to cross illegally, and 428 people have been prevented from crossing the border. Thus, since January 1, the number of those caught while trying to cross our borders illegally has reached 8,999, and the number of those prevented has reached 59,458," he said.
"OUR 9TH A400M AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN COMPLETED"
Rear Admiral Aktürk, regarding the new weapon systems entering the inventory, stated, "As part of the efforts to enhance the capabilities and capacities of the Turkish Armed Forces, the Land Forces Command has successfully completed the inspection and acceptance activities of various quantities of 17-person rigid inflatable boats, and the first system, which has successfully completed the qualification and inspection acceptance processes, has been delivered to the Land Forces Command. Our 9th A400M aircraft, retrofitted by our 2nd Air Maintenance Factory Directorate operating under the General Directorate of Military Factories, has been completed and added to the inventory on November 21. Our Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation has completed the delivery of various quantities and calibers of weapons and ammunition. The prototype delivered to our Air Forces as part of the '8x8 T-155 Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Integrated Panther Howitzer Project' is being carried out under the main contracting of ASFAT Inc.," he said.
"OUR SHIP IS A PART OF THE STEEL DOME"
Aktürk stated that, in line with the operational needs of the Naval Forces, under the contract signed between the Presidency of Defense Industries and Baykar, landing/takeoff tests, joint operations with Albatros-S UAV, and guided missile firing rehearsals for the Bayraktar TB3 UAV and its subsystems are planned to be conducted in Antalya on December 1-3. Aktürk said, "The first block construction of the first ship under the 'TF-2000 Air Defense Destroyer Project' has begun at our Istanbul Shipyard Command. Our ship will be built as part of the steel dome and will significantly contribute to our air defense capabilities as soon as possible," he said.
"A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED"
The ministry also made a statement regarding current issues. In the statement, it was said, "We previously announced that we filed a criminal complaint against those who published the identity information of our 20 heroic comrades who were martyred in the crash of a C-130 military cargo plane on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border on November 11, before the official statement of the Ministry of National Defense. While search and rescue operations are ongoing, it has been determined that among the social media opportunists who disregarded the pain of the martyr families and entered a race to be the first to share martyr information, there are also retired military personnel. In addition to filing a criminal complaint against these individuals, their entry into military guesthouses has also been banned," it was stated.
"IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR US TO ACCEPT ANY AGREEMENT THAT DISREGARDS THE RIGHTS OF THE TRNC"
Regarding the maritime jurisdiction agreement signed between the Greek Cypriot Administration and Lebanon, the ministry stated, "It is not possible for us to accept any agreement that disregards the rights of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). We evaluate that this agreement, which ignores the rights of the TRNC, also violates the interests of the Lebanese people, and we express that we are ready for cooperation in the field of maritime with our Lebanese counterparts," it was stated.
"THE TSK IS READY TO CONTRIBUTE TO ANY INITIATIVE IN OUR REGION"
Regarding the claim that Turkish soldiers will be sent to Ukraine, it was stated, "Wherever there is a need for peace, security, and stability, the Turkish Armed Forces come to mind first, and this is the most important indicator of the effectiveness, deterrence, and respectability of the TSK's capabilities and capacities. First, a ceasefire must be established between Russia and Ukraine. After that, it is necessary to define the framework of a mission with a clear task description and to determine the extent of contribution from each country. The TSK is ready to contribute to any initiative that will provide security and stability in our region," it was stated.
