The Governor of Zonguldak, Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, reacted very strongly to the alternative commemoration of the March 18th Çanakkale Victory organized by the CHP in the city. Hacıbektaşoğlu, who came out on the balcony of the governor's office, expressed his reaction by saying, "Are you a parallel state? Do you have a parallel law? Do you have a second set of laws?"
In Zonguldak, a ceremony was held to commemorate the Martyrs of March 18 and the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli Naval Victory. During the ceremony held in front of the Zonguldak Governorship, Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument.
CHP HELD AN ALTERNATIVE CEREMONY
After the ceremony, Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, who retreated to his office, came out to the balcony upon hearing that a group of CHP members was holding an 'alternative' commemoration ceremony in the ceremony area.
THE GOVERNOR RESPONDED VERY HARSHLY
Hacıbektaşoğlu, stepping out onto the balcony, harshly criticized the CHP and the unions. Reacting to the alternative ceremony, Hacıbektaşoğlu said, "Are you a parallel state? Do you have your own parallel law? Do you have a second law? Aren't you ashamed? A formal ceremony was held here this morning. Shame, shame, shame!"
CHP'S RESPONSE: WE DO NOT WANT TO DISRESPECT YOU
In response to the governor's words, CHP Central District Chairman Osman Zaimoğlu said, "Dear Governor, we do not want to disrespect you." Meanwhile, the CHP members present at the ceremony collectively reacted, saying, "The real shame is on you!"
