In the Mağaracık neighborhood of Samandağ district in Hatay, horror unfolded during the afternoon hours. A dispute arose between Ferhat Saf (48) and his sister-in-law D.S. over the division of inherited land. The argument quickly escalated into a fight.

Ferhat Saf fired at his sister-in-law D.S. with the shotgun he brought with him. Saf then shot himself with the same weapon. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon the notification of those nearby. The teams determined that Ferhat Saf had died at the scene. The injured D.S. was taken to the hospital by ambulance after the first intervention by the medical teams. Saf's lifeless body was taken to the morgue for autopsy. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
