Following Hamdi Akın, the Chairman of the Board of Akfen Holding, Vedat Aşçı, the owner of the Mandarin Hotel and Chairman of the Board of Astaş Holding, has also been summoned to testify as a suspect in the investigation being conducted against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB).
Another businessman has been summoned for questioning as part of the 'Corruption' investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).

In the early hours of the morning, Hamdi Akın, the Chairman of the Board of Akfen Holding, was summoned to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan for questioning. Later, Vedat Aşçı, the founder and Chairman of the Board of Astaş Holding and Astaş Real Estate, was also summoned for questioning.

WHO IS VEDAT AŞCI?
Vedat Aşçı was born in 1960 in Samsun. He went to Germany in 1978 to continue his education and continued his studies there. As the founder and Chairman of the Board of Astaş Holding and Astaş Real Estate, Vedat Aşçı has made significant contributions to his career.
In 1980, through the company Ascı GmbH, which he established in Germany, he provided significant services to the textile and ready-to-wear sector by marketing industrial-type confectionery machines to many countries around the world.
Returning to Turkey in 1983, Aşçı established his first company, Astaş. He entered the real estate sector in 2004, during which he initiated the Kempinski Residences Astoria and Astoria Shopping Center projects.
In 2008, by launching the Bellevue Residences Managed by Kempinski project, Astaş Holding expanded its real estate investments, and in December 2012, it opened the Maçka Residences Interior Design by Armani/Casa Managed by Kempinski project. These projects have stood out as remarkable investments in the luxury housing sector.
Vedat Aşçı has been supporting many educational institutions and organizations for 30 years.
Additionally, as Astaş Holding, he has undertaken the construction of the Ondokuz Mayıs University Bafra Hacı Şevket Aşçı Faculty of Tourism, which is the first tourism faculty in the region. This faculty represents a significant investment in the field of education.
