New developments continue to emerge in the investigation regarding the incident that led to the deaths of three members of the Bocek family in Fatih. It is being emphasized that the pesticide used on the ground floor of the hotel may contain substances that could be harmful to human health and are typically used in agricultural fields. The number of people taken into custody in connection with the incident has risen to eight, and it has been reported that another guest staying at the hotel has been hospitalized.
Three members of the Böcek family, Kadir Muhammet Böcek (6), Masal Böcek (3), and their mother Çiğdem Böcek (27), who were staying at a hotel in Fatih, Istanbul, died in a hospital due to suspected poisoning, while their father Servet Böcek (38) is being treated with a loss of consciousness. New developments continue to emerge in the investigation related to this incident.
While the question "What happened to the Böcek family?" remains unanswered, it has been learned that after two tourists who were staying at the hotel fell ill, another person was taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, the number of detentions in the investigation has risen to 8.
DISINFECTION WAS CARRIED OUT AT THE HOTEL
Police teams arrived at the hotel early in the morning to conduct investigations. It was determined that disinfection was carried out at the hotel on November 11. Following this, teams from the Provincial Health Directorate and the Fatih District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry also conducted inspections at the hotel.
During the inspections, it was learned that information and documents regarding the materials used during the disinfection were collected, and the disinfection was carried out in a single room on the ground floor of the hotel.
SUSPECT OF AGRICULTURAL CHEMICALS IN DISINFECTION
There is a suspicion that some of the substances used in the disinfection may contain materials harmful to human health, which are used in agricultural fields. Samples taken will be analyzed. Additionally, it was learned that the tourists stayed on the fourth floor of the hotel, while the family that lost their lives stayed on the first floor.
NUMBER OF DETENTIONS RISES TO 8
After the examinations, 1 hotel employee and 2 employees of the disinfection company were detained. The number of people detained in connection with the incident has risen to 8.
HOTEL EVACUATED AND SEALED
The police's investigations at the hotel continued throughout the day. While the teams conducted detailed examinations at the hotel, the work concluded in the evening hours. The guests at the hotel were evacuated.
On the other hand, police teams initiated an investigation at the hotel where the Böcek family stayed and where two new poisoning cases occurred. The investigation, which began early yesterday morning, continued until late hours. After the investigation, municipal teams arrived at the scene and sealed the hotel.

İstanbul Provincial Health Director Assoc. Dr. Abdullah Emre Güner stated on his X account, "Two foreign tourists who presented with nausea and vomiting complaints at Taksim Training and Research Hospital after staying at a hotel in Fatih are in good general condition and are being monitored.
A third person who stayed in the same room and was with the patients as a companion was admitted for examination due to low heart rate, and a rapid response was obtained from the treatment applied, and their general condition is good." he stated.
