They were shouting from behind, 'This child will die here.'"
The argument that started between the landlord and the tenant in Bağcılar over the "eviction" issue ended in bloodshed with the involvement of families. In the fight that broke out between the parties who came together to reach an agreement, 24-year-old Aziz Lokman Bilmez, who was stabbed in the heart by the landlord's brother, passed away after months of intensive care treatment.
THEY MET TO RECONCILE, BLOOD WAS SHED The incident occurred on August 29, 2025, in Bağcılar. According to the information obtained, landlord Hasan Ceylan wanted the Bilmez family, who had been his tenants for about 10 years, to vacate the apartment. The family stated that they would vacate the house by requesting time, and an agreement was reached between the parties. On the day of the incident, tenant Neytullah Bilmez, who went to the pharmacy due to a toothache, encountered the landlord's brother, Ahmet Ceylan, on the way. Ceylan shouted, "You will leave this house." Neytullah Bilmez replied, "My counterpart is the landlord Hasan." The argument quickly escalated into a fight. Tenant Neytullah Bilmez was assaulted in the middle of the street by the landlord's brother and those with him. Neytullah Bilmez called his son Bilal Bilmez for help, and they went home together. Then the landlord came to the tenant's house and wanted the incident to be forgotten and resolved amicably. The Bilmez family accepted the landlord Hasan Ceylan's offer, "We are leaving, if you want to come after us, come, let's reconcile in half an hour and resolve the issue amicably," to prevent the incident from dragging on.
Aziz Bilmez TWO FAMILIES MET TO RECONCILE After the tenant family's arrival on the street to talk, landlord Hasan Ceylan's brother, Ahmet Ceylan, raised his hand to Neytullah Bilmez's brother, İdris Bilmez, and began to insult and curse him. The argument between the two families, who came together to reconcile, turned into a fight.
THEY STABBED; THEY BLOCKED THE VEHICLE'S PATH TO PREVENT IT FROM BEING TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL According to allegations, during the fight, the landlord's other brother, Fatih Ceylan, stabbed Neytullah Bilmez's son, Aziz Bilmez, in the heart. Despite the family's warnings, "The child has been stabbed; let us take him to the hospital," the knife-wielding assailant and his companions blocked the path of the vehicle containing the injured young man, broke its windows, and threw a hammer at the car. Allegedly, the knife-wielding assailant Fatih Ceylan and the attackers with him said, "This child will die here, he will not go to the hospital," blocking the vehicle. Aziz Lokman Bilmez, who was severely injured and had been fighting for his life in intensive care since August 30, passed away last night. Aziz Lokman Bilmez, who had an 83% visual impairment, had his family receive his body from the Forensic Medicine Institution. Aziz Lokman Bilmez's mother fainted. It was learned that the assailant Fatih Ceylan was arrested, while judicial control measures were applied to Ahmet Ceylan and Hasan Ceylan, resulting in a house arrest decision.
"MY DAD CALLED ME WHEN HE WAS ASSAULTED; I TRIED TO UNDERSTAND THE INCIDENT" Bilal Bilmez, the brother of the deceased Aziz Lokman Bilmez, said, "Six months ago, on the day this incident occurred; our landlord called my father and said, 'Leave my house, we will move.' We said, 'Give us a little time, we cannot find a place in this situation after the earthquake.' We reached an agreement. Then my father had a toothache; he went to the pharmacy. While coming back from the pharmacy, the landlord's brother confronted my father in front of the shop. They cornered my father. My father said, 'Look, I have a toothache, my counterpart is the landlord. You are his brother; my counterpart is Hasan.' There was back and forth between them. Then my father said, 'I am leaving; I have a toothache.' As my father turned his back, the landlord's brother shouted, 'You will leave this house.' We had already reached an agreement with the landlord. My father said, 'I am going home; you come too then.' After that, my father turned around, and they beat him there. My father's face was completely red and bruised. As far as I know, 1-2 people were hitting him. My father is an elderly man, not a young person. When my father was assaulted, he called me. I went and dropped my father off at the door of the house. I was trying to understand the incident there," he said.
"MY BROTHER SAID 'I WAS STABBED'; THE KNIFE ENTERED 1.5 CM INTO THE HEART" Bilmez said, "At that moment, the landlord also came in front of our door with 2-3 people to apologize. We said, 'There is no apology for such a thing. We are going to file a complaint.' The landlord said, 'My brother is there; go do whatever you want.' We said, 'We are not savage people; we have nothing to do with such things. We are going to get a medical report for the assault.' Just as we were about to get into the car, they told us, 'We are leaving; if you want to come after us, come, let's reconcile in half an hour and resolve the issue amicably.' We said, 'Let the incident not drag on, let nothing happen.' Then we headed that way. Before we even got out of the car, Hasan Ceylan's brother, the one who beat my father, raised his hand to my uncle İdris Bilmez and started to insult and curse him in an unacceptable manner. He was making hand gestures and cursing. He said, 'Bring me my knife, bring me my gun, I will kill them.' When we heard the word gun, we got scared. That's how the incident developed. My brother separated from us for a moment. Fatih Ceylan, their younger brother, probably went inside to get a knife. He got a knife. My brother and he were struggling behind the car, and he stabbed him in the heart. We were not fully aware of the incident. As we were getting into the car, my brother said, 'I was stabbed.' We were putting my brother in the car. Just as we were about to leave, I shouted, 'Wait, the child has been stabbed.' They did not listen. They smashed the car, blocked our way. They threw a hammer at the front of the car. They did everything; the vehicle was completely destroyed. They were shouting behind us, 'This child will die here.' They continued to hit and did not let us go to the hospital.
“They should do something about these rental issues as much as possible. A lot of people have been victimized in these matters,” he said.
“HE WAS A CHILD LIKE AN ANGEL” Aziz Lokman Bilmez's uncle, Süleyman Yaman, said, “Aziz was 24 years old, he was such a child that he was like an angel. The whole region knows by now, that child never harmed anyone. They have been tenants in that house for nearly 10 years. The landlord said, ‘You will leave, I will come,’ and they said, ‘Okay, we will leave.’ ‘Give me a few days to find a house,’ the landlord said, ‘Okay,’ and they granted him a grace period. While the child's father was on his way to the dental hospital, they blocked his path asking, ‘Why didn’t you leave?’ My brother said, ‘Get out of my house, you will leave immediately, we will throw your belongings outside.’ In response, he said, ‘You will give me a few days,’ and they said, ‘No, we will throw your belongings outside immediately, we will throw them into the street.’ That’s why a fight broke out. They stabbed Aziz in the heart. They were going to take him to the hospital in his uncle's car, but these people, like a gang, blocked the road and smashed the car to pieces. They said, ‘This child will die here, he will not go to the hospital.’ At that moment, blood does not reach the brain, the brain locks itself. He had been in intensive care for 6 months. He passed away last night. Someone said, ‘I did it,’ he is in prison, and the others have been placed under house arrest. You are the landlord, okay, you tell the tenant to ‘Leave,’ but you don’t give a grace period. ‘I am the landlord, you will either pay this much money or I will throw your belongings out onto the street the same day.’ Is this how it works? They deliberately murdered him. The Ministry of Justice should intervene in these situations. Unfortunately, these landlord-tenant issues are everywhere,” he said.
