GRETA THUNBERG ALSO DETAINED

ISTANBUL AND ANKARA CHIEF PROSECUTOR'S OFFICES LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation regarding the detention of 28 Turkish citizens by Israel, taking into account the regulations in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, under the charges of "Qualified Robbery," "Damage to Property," and "Torture."
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office also initiated an ex officio investigation regarding the attack. It was noted that the investigation was launched in accordance with Article 13 of the Turkish Penal Code, which states that Turkish laws and Turkish judiciary will be competent even if international crimes are committed by a foreigner in a foreign country.
