Citizens who threw garbage next to a trash container in Fethiye were detected by the photo trap cameras installed by the municipality. Mayor Alim Karaca announced that legal action has been initiated by sharing the footage and stated, "No one has the right to pollute our Fethiye."

A new application has been implemented in the Fethiye district of Muğla as part of the fight against environmental pollution. Citizens who come up to the trash containers and carelessly throw their garbage around have been detected by "fotokapan" cameras installed by the Fethiye Municipality.

"NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO DO THIS"

The Mayor of Fethiye, Alim Karaca, shared the footage related to the issue with the public and strongly criticized those who behave insensitively regarding littering. In his statement, Karaca said: "With the 'FOTOKAPAN' cameras we have deployed in different locations of our district, we are starting the penal process by monitoring individuals who randomly throw garbage outside the trash containers in real-time. Fethiye belongs to all of us. Nobody has the right to pollute our paradise on Earth, Fethiye."

IT IS CLEARLY VISIBLE

The footage clearly shows some citizens coming right next to the trash bin and scattering their garbage around instead of throwing it into the container. While the application aims to raise awareness about environmental sensitivity, it has been stated that deterrent penalties will be applied to those who do not comply with the rules.
