Last year in Turkey, a total of 13 million 176 thousand 51 gold coins were minted in various types, with the quarter gold coin being the most minted type at 7 million 35 thousand 130. In the category of coin republic gold, the full republic gold was minted the most with 2 million 202 thousand 220. Last year, 338 kilograms and 360.3 grams of gold were used for the minting of different types of coins.
In accordance with the decision of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) dated 1951, the republic gold coins produced exclusively by the Mint are manufactured in two groups, as coins and jewelry, through secure and precise processes such as casting, rolling, cutting, tolerance, annealing, stamping, edge milling, and quality control, in 10 different diameters and weights, as 22-carat gold. The gold with the Atatürk relief is referred to as "Ata lira," while the finely minted jewelry gold is generally purchased as jewelry.
A TOTAL OF 13 MILLION 176 THOUSAND GOLD COINS WERE MINTED IN 2025
According to data compiled from the General Directorate of the Mint and Stamp Printing House, 13 million 176 thousand 51 gold coins of various types were minted in 2025. Of the minted gold, 10 million 241 thousand 427 were jewelry republic gold coins, while 2 million 556 thousand 157 were coin republic gold coins. For the 13 million 176 thousand 51 gold coins minted in different varieties last year, 49 tons 715 kilograms 513.8 grams of gold were used.
THE MOST MINTED TYPE WAS QUARTER JEWELRY
In the category of jewelry republic gold coins, 7 million 35 thousand 130 quarter gold coins were minted last year, making it the most minted type of gold among all varieties. Last year, 1 million 306 thousand 10 half, 1 million 791 thousand 477 full, 107 thousand 570 "two-and-a-half" and 1240 "five" jewelry gold coins were released to the market. The total weight of the minted jewelry republic gold coins was 31 tons 402 kilograms 599.6 grams.
2.2 MILLION FULL COIN REPUBLIC GOLD COINS WERE MINTED
In the category of coin republic gold coins, 280 thousand 245 quarter gold coins, 56 thousand 322 half gold coins, 2 million 202 thousand 220 full gold coins, 1860 two-and-a-half gold coins, and 15 thousand 510 five gold coins were minted last year. According to these figures, the most minted type of coin gold was the full republic gold coin. The total weight of the 2 million 556 thousand 157 minted coin republic gold coins of various sizes was 17 tons 189 kilograms 375.8 grams.
338 KILOS OF GOLD WERE SPENT
When examining the other minted gold coins, in the category of Reşad gold, 891 half, 21 thousand 158 full, 1560 two-and-a-half, and 16 thousand 680 five gold coins were minted. In addition, 338 thousand 178 pieces of mint gold were released in various grams. Last year, a total of 40 thousand 289 Reşad gold coins were minted in various sizes, with a total weight of 785 kilograms 178.1 grams. For the mint gold coins minted in various grams, 338 kilograms 360.3 grams of gold were spent.
