According to the research, 4,446 Ford Fiestas were stolen across England last year. This figure means that an average of 12 vehicles were lost each day. Following the Fiesta, the Volkswagen Golf with 1,727 cases and the Ford Focus with 1,700 thefts were next.
LUXURY SEGMENT VEHICLES ARE ALSO ON THE THIEVES' RADAR
The report revealed that not only common models but also luxury segment vehicles are on the radar of thieves. The Range Rover Evoque, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class were among the top 10 most stolen models in 2024. It was noted that these vehicles are generally stolen for export purposes and sold abroad.
Data from Tempcover also showed a significant decrease in Ferrari thefts. While 43 Ferraris were stolen in 2023, this number dropped to just 3 in 2024. Experts attribute this decline to advancements in security systems and vehicle tracking technologies.
