In the investigation regarding the murder of İsa Turgut with an axe and a pickaxe in the Kartepe district of Kocaeli, an indictment has been prepared by the prosecutor's office against two suspects aged 17 and 19. The indictment includes the statement of the 17-year-old suspect Y.C.B., in which he said, "I hit him on the head with the cutting edge of the axe in my hand as many times as I can't remember."
An indictment has been prepared regarding the incident in which İsa Turgut (35) was killed with an axe and a pickaxe in a vineyard house in Kartepe district of Kocaeli. The prosecutor requested up to 15 years for Y.C.B. (17), who was arrested in connection with the incident, and life imprisonment for Nazir Bayır (19) for the crime of "intentional murder."
The incident occurred on January 19 in a vineyard house located in the forest area of Okçapınar in Suadiye neighborhood of Kartepe district. İsa Turgut, the owner of the vineyard house, was killed by being struck with an axe and a pickaxe by Y.C.B. and his cousin Nazir Bayır. Y.C.B. and Nazir Bayır, who were caught as a result of police investigations, claimed in their statements to the police and the prosecutor's office that İsa Turgut had sexually assaulted Bayır, and that was why they killed him. The suspects, whose procedures were completed, were arrested by the court to which they were referred.
"I HIT HIS HEAD AS MUCH AS I DON'T REMEMBER" An indictment was prepared by the public prosecutor regarding the incident. The indictment also included Y.C.B.'s statement. Y.C.B. explained that he and his cousin Bayır came to Kocaeli and slept in a mosque and a prayer room because they could not find a place to stay, and that İsa Turgut, whom they met through a friend, told them that he had a vineyard house and that they could stay there. Y.C.B. claimed that Turgut sexually assaulted Bayır on the night they stayed, saying, "I hit him on the head with the sharp part of the axe that was in the room. He got up and grabbed the axe. When he grabbed the axe, I punched him in the head. Then Nazir also hit İsa on the head with the blunt part of the pickaxe that was in the room. İsa remained standing for a while holding the axe. Then he fell to the ground. I hit him on the head with the sharp part of the axe as much as I don't remember. Nazir didn't hit him again. I hit him many times with the axe, thinking he would come after us and out of fear. Nazir said, 'Let's run away.' The key to the motorcycle was on the seat. Nazir drove the motorcycle; I got on the back. I regret it very much."
24 CUTTING, BLUNT INSTRUMENT INJURIES The indictment, which also included the autopsy result, stated that İsa Turgut had 24 injuries assessed to have been caused by cutting and blunt instruments on his body, of which 5 were fatal. It was determined that the cause of death was due to skull fractures, brain hemorrhage, and brain tissue destruction resulting from injuries caused by cutting and blunt instruments. The prosecutor requested life imprisonment for the two defendants for the crime of 'intentional murder' and 5 to 10 years in prison for the crime of 'qualified theft by taking advantage of the victim's inability to protect his property or his death.' For Y.C.B., who was under 18 at the time of the incident, a reduction in age was applied, requesting 12 to 15 years in prison instead of life imprisonment, and 1 year and 8 months to 3 years and 4 months for the theft charge. The indictment was accepted by the Kocaeli 3rd High Criminal Court.
