Hegseth stated, "As we said immediately after the brutal attack, if you target Americans anywhere in the world, you will spend the rest of your short and anxious life knowing that the U.S. will hunt you down, find you, and kill you mercilessly."
U.S. ARMY: OVER 70 ISIS TARGETS STRUCK
The U.S. Army provided detailed information regarding the military operation launched against ISIS elements in Syria.
In a statement from the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), it was noted that Operation Hawkeye was initiated by order of President Donald Trump as a retaliation for the ISIS attack in the Palmyra region of Syria, which resulted in the deaths of 2 soldiers and 3 U.S. citizens. "CENTCOM forces struck over 70 targets in many locations in central Syria with fighter jets, attack helicopters, and heavy weapons. The Jordanian Armed Forces also supported the operation with fighter jets. More than 100 precision munitions were used targeting known ISIS infrastructure and weapon depots," the statement said.

Trump stated that they have carried out extremely powerful attacks on ISIS positions in Syria, saying, "This is a blood-soaked place with many problems; however, if ISIS can be eliminated, it could have a bright future."
