28-year-old Australian Paralympic cyclist Paige Greco passed away due to a sudden illness at her home. Greco, who had cerebral palsy, achieved numerous international successes in her career.

Australian Paralympic cyclist Paige Greco has passed away. In a statement from Paralympics Australia and AusCycling, it was reported that the 28-year-old athlete died after experiencing a sudden illness at her home.

Greco, who had cerebral palsy and competed in the C3 class, won 3 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals at the World Track Championships, as well as 1 gold and 3 bronze medals at the World Road Championships.

Greco also won the gold medal in the C1–3 women's pursuit event at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

AusCycling CEO Marne Fechner expressed deep sadness over the tragic news, stating, "Paige was an extraordinary athlete who achieved remarkable success at the highest levels of our sport. Beyond that, she touched the lives of everyone around her with her positive spirit and courageous outlook."
