WHO IS PINAR KÜR?

Born in 1943 in Bursa, Pınar Kür is considered one of Turkey's most important literary figures. Coming from an artistic family, Kür's mother was the writer and teacher İsmet Kür, and her father was Behram Kür, a French and mathematics teacher. Completing her high school education at Robert College, Kür then completed her undergraduate studies at Queens College (New York) and Boğaziçi University. Pınar Kür continued her higher education at Paris Sorbonne University, where she earned a doctorate in comparative literature.

She began her academic career as an English instructor at Istanbul University School of Foreign Languages. She also served as a faculty member in the Media and Communication Systems Department at Istanbul Bilgi University for many years.

In addition to her contributions to literature, Pınar Kür was awarded an honorary prize during the Ankara Story Days held in May 2013.

From her marriage to actor Can Kolukısa, she gave birth to a son named Emrah Kolukısa, who, like his father, is involved in the cinema and television world.
