FETÖ OPERATION AGAINST THE OWNER OF HAKMAR AND TATBAK

New details have emerged regarding the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the current financial structure of FETÖ. It was determined that Zeki Doruk, a major shareholder and manager of the HAKMAR and TATBAK chain supermarkets, who was detained in the operation carried out by the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and the Istanbul Police Department, had a high-level connection to FETÖ.

FORMER PARTNER TESTIFIED

It was learned that there were both past statements and reports regarding Doruk's affiliation, and that his former partner, İ.A., testified that Doruk served FETÖ/PDY. It was also determined that suspect Zeki Doruk provided financial assistance to FETÖ based on instructions received from abroad.

In July 2017, it was understood that police officer C.G., who was expelled within the scope of FETÖ/PDY, worked without insurance alongside suspect Doruk, served as his assistant, and organized aid and distribution for organization members.

DETAILS OF THE OPERATION

Simultaneous operations were conducted in Ankara, Sakarya, Osmaniye, Bayburt, Giresun, Malatya, Yalova, and Bolu by MIT, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit. A total of 26 suspects, including Zeki Doruk, the owner of HAKMAR and TATBAK chain supermarkets, and C.G., who was expelled from the police force, were detained.

It was determined that Zeki Doruk, who owns chain supermarkets with approximately 800 branches centered in Istanbul and from whose home materials related to the terrorist organization were seized during searches, regularly transferred money to organization members in Turkey based on instructions received from FETÖ's overseas structure, using the HAKMAR Group of Companies as a source.

It was found that Zeki Doruk, who has numerous reports against him, collected donations for FETÖ under the pretexts of "victim donations, pilgrimage money, and membership to Zaman newspaper," and employed individuals who had a record of FETÖ membership and continued to sympathize with the terrorist organization in his chain supermarkets.

In the headquarters building of HAKMAR in the Sancaktepe district of Istanbul, numerous encrypted doors were found in accordance with organizational customs, indicating high-level security, and it was recorded that organizational meetings were held in those locations, with Zeki Doruk using his affiliated companies HAKMAR and TATBAK for organizational money transfers.

It was learned that suspect C.G. provided financial assistance to individuals who were expelled and their close relatives, who were part of FETÖ's secret structures. In the operation conducted today, many materials related to FETÖ and showing the financial network were seized during searches at the headquarters of 3 companies within the HAKMAR Group, and a trustee was appointed to HAKMAR and TATBAK.
