The confession of a civil engineer, describing the distress he experienced due to the widening financial gap with his surgeon spouse and social pressures, caused a great stir.

A confession about family economic balance shared on digital platforms has reopened the debate on gender roles and the place of money in marriage. A social media user, stating that he is a 33-year-old civil engineer, openly shared his experience with his surgeon wife, who earns about three times more than him, and the psychological pressure he feels.

"MY WIFE PAYS FOR MOST OF OUR VACATIONS"

The young husband, noting that they have been married for three years and that the financial gap between them has reversed over time, summarized their household economy with these words: "I am 33 years old, a civil engineer. I earn 85 thousand. My wife is a surgeon, earning 280 thousand. My wife bought our car, my wife paid the down payment for the house. My wife also pays for most of our vacations."

"BEING A MAN IS A MATTER OF MONEY"

In his post, the engineer also touched on the damage caused by pressure from his surroundings and family, recounting a conversation he had with his father during Ramadan. The young man confessed that during sahur, his father told him, "Being a man is a matter of money, why are you like this?" and he froze at that moment. He described the embarrassment he faced among friends with this example: "Yesterday, among friends, they asked, 'How much did you pay for the vacation?' I said '60 thousand.' Actually, the vacation was 180 thousand, but since my wife paid for it, I couldn't say so."

"A MAN'S PRIDE SLOWLY DIES"

In the final part of his confession, the user highlighted the impact on male psychology when a woman has a high income in a marriage, lamenting, "Maybe a marriage doesn't end when a woman earns more, but a man's pride slowly dies, friends."
