The President of TFF, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, stated that their investigation into the betting scandal will be completed within a month. Hacıosmanoğlu said, "We did not protect anyone in the betting investigation. That would be immoral. May God protect us from making mistakes. For us, there is no difference between the biggest club and the smallest one. Our betting investigations will be completed in a month."

The President of the Turkish Football Federation, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, made important statements regarding the major betting operation that has shaken Turkish football. Hacıosmanoğlu stated that the investigations conducted by the federation will be completed within a month.

"WE DID NOT PROTECT ANYONE, IT WOULD BE IMMORAL"

TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, in a statement to Saygı Öztürk, indicated that the scope of the betting investigation is much larger than he expected, saying, "I did not anticipate it would be this extensive. We did not protect anyone in the betting investigation; that would be immoral. May God protect us from making mistakes. There is no difference between the biggest club and the smallest for us."

Hacıosmanoğlu emphasized the federation's determination, calling on clubs, "I am cleaning my own front; we have called on the clubs. 'You should also clean your own front.' Our investigation will be completed in a month," he said.

A RECORD NUMBER OF PLAYERS REFERRED TO PFDK

According to the official statement from TFF, a total of 1,024 players have been provisionally referred to the Professional Football Discipline Board as part of the betting operation.

The distribution is as follows;

  • Super League: 27 players
  • 1st League: 77 players
  • 2nd League: 282 players
  • 3rd League: 629 players

Additionally, the files of 47 players who were detected with betting activity only once will be re-evaluated, waiting for additional evidence to prevent irreparable mistakes.

PLANNING IS COORDINATED WITH CLUBS

Speaking about the postponement of some matches and the uncertainties in the leagues, Hacıosmanoğlu stated that the process is progressing in coordination with the institutions, saying, "We are in discussions with the clubs, and planning is being done. The relevant institutions are also continuing their applications fairly in their own channels."

In what is described as the largest betting operation in Turkish football history, all eyes are now on the final decisions to be made by the TFF and the penalties from the PFDK.
