It has been learned that Erdal Beşikçioğlu, the Mayor arrested within the scope of the investigation into Etimesgut Municipality, has been transferred to Konya Closed Prison.
A new development has occurred regarding Mayor and actor Erdal Beşikçioğlu, who was detained and then arrested within the scope of the investigation into the Etimesgut Municipality.
According to the information obtained, Beşikçioğlu was transferred to Konya Closed Penal Institution after the arrest decision.
ERDAL BEŞİKÇİOĞLU AND 39 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED
Within the scope of the "corruption" investigation conducted by the Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding Etimesgut Municipality, 40 suspects, including Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu, were arrested.
After the prosecutor's office statements at Ankara West Courthouse, the proceedings at the duty court of peace, where 44 suspects, including Mayor Beşikçioğlu, were referred with a request for their arrest, were completed.
While 40 suspects, including Beşikçioğlu, were arrested, judicial control provisions were applied to 4 suspects.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation upon allegations that benefits were obtained in some tenders held by Etimesgut Municipality through irregularities, preparation of fake documents, parking lot rentals, and regarding zoning and permit procedures for construction projects.
Within the scope of Court of Accounts reports, statements of effective remorse, complainant statements, CIMER applications, audio and video recordings, and MASAK and HTS analysis, 55 suspects, including Beşikçioğlu, 42 of whom were municipal employees and 13 company officials, were detained on charges of "establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "being a member of an organization," "embezzlement," "bribery," "extortion," "fraud in public tenders," and "fraud in the performance of a contract."
Of the suspects referred to the courthouse, 10 were released under judicial control.
One suspect is still receiving treatment in the hospital.
