With the start of the month of Ramadan, the traditional chickpea bread, which has taken its place on the stalls in Elazığ, is attracting the attention of citizens. Business owner Mehmet Bingöl stated that the production process of the chickpea bread, which they produce specifically for Ramadan, takes about 2-3 hours and that citizens wait for this special flavor for 11 months.
With the beginning of the month of Ramadan, the traditional chickpea bread produced in Elazığ has once again found its place on the shelves.
CITIZENS WAIT FOR THIS PRODUCT FOR 11 MONTHS
This tradition, which is generally practiced in the city during the month of Ramadan and has been continued for many years, is also ongoing this year. Mehmet Bingöl, the operator of a simit café, stated that the production process of the chickpea bread they make specifically for Ramadan takes about 2-3 hours. Bingöl expressed that the product, which goes through a laborious production process, is prepared every year during Ramadan and said it is a product that citizens wait for 11 months.
THE UNMISSABLE FLAVOR OF RAMADAN
Mehmet Bingöl stated that the traditional flavor will be on sale throughout the month of Ramadan, saying, "First of all, I congratulate all our Muslim brothers on the month of Ramadan and wish it to be a means of goodness. As for the product we make, we have a product that we traditionally release during the month of Ramadan every year, and its name is chickpea bread. It is one of the indispensable flavors of Ramadan in Elazığ. In fact, I can say that it is a product that the people of Elazığ wait for 11 months. The production phase takes about 2-3 hours, it is quite laborious but also a very special product. Our product is ready now. We are waiting for all our fellow citizens of Elazığ throughout the month of Ramadan," he said.
