ARMENIA'S "TURKEY" REQUEST TO RUSSIA
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with members of the press after today's cabinet meeting. Addressing the agenda, Pashinyan responded to a question regarding Russia's role in the International Peace and Prosperity for Trump Route (TRIPP) project. The Armenian Prime Minister claimed that the project is defined as a bilateral project between Armenia and the United States, stating, "The inclusion of third countries in the process can only be discussed in a bilateral format. This has been expressed clearly."
"REBUILD THE RAILWAY EXTENDING TO TURKEY"
The Prime Minister mentioned that he did not find it appropriate to make further comments on the matter, emphasizing that certain sections of the railways within Armenian territory need to be constructed. Pashinyan said, "I have urgently requested our Russian counterparts to completely rebuild the railway extending from the village of Yeraskh to Nakhchivan and from Akhurik to Turkey."
Pashinyan also indicated that he would soon bring up the line between the city of Ijevan in Armenia and the city of Gazakh in Azerbaijan, stressing that this section should also be rebuilt as soon as possible. Pashinyan expressed hope that the Russian partners would swiftly implement these requests.
The TRIPP project envisions the evaluation of strategic and economic opportunities in the region, obtaining long-term gains from investments and infrastructure incentives, and strengthening regional connections, as part of the joint declaration signed by Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev with the mediation of U.S. President Donald Trump in August.
