SHE WAS ALONE AT HOME

The incident occurred on Hayat Street in the Mersincik neighborhood of Derince. Hamide Gündağ (77), who lives with her son Ferhat Gündağ, wanted to refill her lighter gas while she was alone at home. During this process, a flare-up occurred, resulting in burns on the elderly woman's hands, face, legs, and various parts of her body.

THE KITCHEN GAS CYLINDER EXPLODED

After the flare-up, a fire broke out in the house. The flames quickly grew after the kitchen gas cylinder exploded.

At the moment the fire started, police teams passing by noticed the situation and immediately rushed to the house. With the help of neighborhood residents, the elderly woman was rescued from the house with difficulty.

Hamide Gündağ, who received first aid in the ambulance at the scene, was later transferred to Kocaeli City Hospital for treatment by another ambulance.
