According to a survey conducted by the U.S.-based research company Pew Research Center in 23 countries, Turkey has the most negative attitude towards Israel. Ninety-four percent of the participants expressed negative views, and particularly in Western countries, negative perceptions increased following the attacks on Gaza. The research revealed that young people directed harsher criticisms towards Israel compared to adults.

The research conducted in 23 countries revealed that negative views towards Israel and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu have rapidly increased worldwide, especially after the Gaza attacks.

94% NEGATIVE VIEW IN TURKEY

According to the research, Turkey has become the country with the most negative attitude towards Israel. 84% of participants expressed "very negative" views, while 10% expressed "negative" views, resulting in a total opposition rate of 94%. Following Turkey, Spain and the Netherlands had a very negative view rate of 57%, Sweden 56%, France 55%, and Greece 53%.

YOUNG PEOPLE'S ATTITUDE IS MORE SEVERE

The survey showed that in high-income countries, young people directed harsher criticisms towards Israel compared to adults. This trend is particularly evident in Australia, Canada, France, Poland, South Korea, and the U.S. In the U.S., young people's views on Israel are more negative, while adults exhibit a more balanced approach.

INCREASE AFTER GAZA ATTACKS

According to the news compiled by Milliyet, the data revealed that negative views have rapidly increased following operations in Gaza. For example, in the United Kingdom, the rate of "very negative" views, which was 11% in 2013, rose to 44% in 2025. In the U.S., negative attitudes increased by 11% compared to 2022.

POSITIVE VIEWS ARE LIMITED

In Africa, Nigeria and Kenya stood out with a 35% positive view, while in Europe, Hungary was the most positive with 36%. In India, 34% expressed positive views, while 29% expressed negative views.
