Forest fires broke out in Kocaeli-Karamürsel, Bursa-İznik, Karaman-Ermenek, Muğla-Fethiye, and Bartın-Amasra. While teams continue to intervene in the flames from the air and on the ground, the smoke from the fire in Karamürsel reached Bursa. As the fire in Karamürsel spread to residential areas, citizens filming a house engulfed in flames were heard saying, "Run, we can’t do anything anymore."

KOCAELİ-KARAMÜRSEL

A fire broke out in the forest near Suludere village in Karamürsel district of Kocaeli around 1:00 PM. Upon receiving reports from those who saw the fire, fire trucks, water tankers from the Forest Regional Directorate, and firefighting helicopters were dispatched to the area. While teams began their intervention, local residents are also supporting the efforts. Work to bring the fire under control is ongoing.

SMOKE REACHED BURSA

The dense smoke created by the fire that broke out in the forested area in Suludere neighborhood for an unknown reason reached the city center of Bursa and the Orhangazi district. The large smoke layer was visible from many points in the city. Due to the smoke spreading with the wind, the smell of smoke has also increased significantly in the affected areas.

THE FIRE REACHED THE VILLAGE: WE CAN DO NOTHING NOW

While efforts to intervene in the fire in Karamürsel continue, the flames reached some houses in Akçat village due to the wind. In a video reportedly taken in Akçat village, flames were seen spreading to a house, and a citizen was trying to intervene with a hose. The person filming said, "Run away, we can do nothing now."

The Forest Regional Directorate and fire brigade teams are making intense efforts to move the flames away from residential areas and bring the fire under control with firefighting helicopters and numerous water tankers.

BURSA-İZNİK

A forest fire started near Bayındır neighborhood in İznik district of Bursa around noon today. After citizens noticed the rising smoke and reported it to the authorities, teams from Bursa Forest Regional Directorate and İznik Municipality were dispatched to the area.

FLAMES SPREADING DUE TO WIND

While the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, it has been reported that the flames are spreading rapidly due to hot weather and wind. Teams have begun intense intervention from both land and air. Security measures have been increased in surrounding areas to prevent the fire from spreading to residential areas.

Officials from İznik Municipality stated that all resources are being mobilized to bring the fire under control and that citizens should stay away from the area. Teams intervening in the fire are continuing their water dumping efforts with helicopter support to prevent the flames from spreading. Due to the rich vegetation in the area where the fire started, there are concerns about the damage to the local wildlife. Damage assessment work will begin after the fire is brought under control.

KARAMAN-ERMENEK

A fire broke out in the forested area of Ardıçkaya village in Ermenek district of Karaman around 1:30 PM for an unknown reason. The flames spread rapidly due to the wind. Upon noticing the smoke, villagers reported it, and numerous teams from the Forest Management Directorate and fire brigade from Karaman and Ermenek were dispatched. With the spread of the flames, support from 4 helicopters was requested from the General Directorate of Forestry. Due to the terrain conditions, the first teams to arrive in the area began to intervene together with the villagers.

MUĞLA-FETHİYE

A fire broke out in the forest near Katrancı Bay in Fethiye district of Muğla around 3:30 PM. The cause of the fire, which has not yet been determined, prompted the dispatch of air units and water tankers from the Muğla Forest Regional Directorate to the area. Fire brigade teams are also supporting the extinguishing efforts. The intervention to the flames continues from both air and ground.

BARTIN-AMASRA

Efforts to extinguish the forest fire that broke out in Ahatlar village in Amasra district of Bartın are ongoing.

For the fire that broke out for an unknown reason, teams from the Bartın Forest Management Directorate are intervening with water tankers and construction machinery.

Firefighting teams from Bartın Municipality and surrounding districts and towns were dispatched to the fire area. The teams are intensively working to prevent the fire from spreading to large forested areas.

ONE FIRE STARTED BEFORE THE OTHER WAS EXTINGUISHED

While the intervention continues for the fires that broke out in the Ahatlar area of Bartın's Amasra district and along the İnkumu road, another fire broke out in the Ağdacı neighborhood of Bartın city center.

The fire that occurred near Bartın University Ağdacı Campus grew rapidly due to the wind and suddenly spread to the forested area. After the notification, Bartın Municipality and Fire Department teams, along with the Forest Management Directorate's water tankers, were dispatched to the area. The fire, which also threatened nearby houses, was brought under control by the firefighting teams that arrived at the scene.
