A decision has been made regarding A.Ç., a primary school teacher who was arrested and is being tried for allegedly sexually abusing 8 students at the primary school where he worked in the İnebolu district of Kastamonu. The court sentenced the defendant to 65 years in prison without applying any reduction in the sentence.
A class teacher A.Ç. working at an elementary school in the İnebolu district of Kastamonu has been charged with 'sexual abuse' and 'obscenity' against multiple children at the İnebolu Heavy Penal Court. During the verdict hearing held on December 12, the prosecutor presented their opinion.
SEXUAL ABUSE OF 8 STUDENTS
In the opinion, it was stated that the defendant committed separate acts of sexual abuse against 8 child victims, that the acts were committed in a chain-like manner, and that some victims were shown obscene content. The opinion noted that the consistent and mutually compatible statements of the victim children, testimonies from students, parents, and teacher witnesses, footage from school cameras, sexual content found in digital materials seized from the defendant, as well as forensic interviews and forensic reports were included as evidence in the case, and requested punishment.
NO MITIGATION APPLIED
During the hearing, the families of the victims and their lawyers stated that they agreed with the prosecutor's opinion and requested that the defendant be punished at the upper limit. The defendant A.Ç., in his defense, denied the accusations, claiming that the allegations of abuse against children did not reflect the truth and that the statements were misunderstood, saying, "I request my acquittal, I do not forgive the parents."
The court panel sentenced the defendant A.Ç. to a total of 65 years in prison for 'qualified sexual abuse of a child' and 'obscenity' concerning 8 child victims. The court did not apply any mitigation, considering the defendant's behavior during the trial, the severity of the crime, and its impact on the victims.
