In Israel, the ultra-Orthodox Jewish (Haredi) party Shas, which is part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition, has decided to resign from the government due to a disagreement over a law that would ensure military exemption for Haredim. This situation has led to the Netanyahu government falling into a minority position in the Knesset.

One of the important partners in Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's government has left the coalition. After the United Torah Judaism Party (UTJ) yesterday, today the Shas Party, one of the Ultra-Orthodox Jewish (Haredi) parties, announced that it has withdrawn from the coalition.

NETANYAHU'S GOVERNMENT HAS FALLEN INTO A MINORITY POSITION

The Shas Party, which has 11 members in the Knesset, decided to resign from the government due to a disagreement over the law that would provide military exemption for the Haredi community, as determined by its religious authority, the Council of Rabbis. With this decision, Netanyahu's government, which recently lost another Haredi coalition partner, has fallen into a minority government position supported by 50 members in the 120-seat Knesset.

"NETANYAHU IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DECISION"

In a statement made by the Shas Party, it was noted that the party withdrew from the coalition following long-standing discussions regarding the conscription of Yeshiva students in Israel, and that Netanyahu is responsible for this decision. The statement said, "Although Shas has left the government, it will not attempt to undermine it and may vote in a way that supports the coalition on certain laws. At the same time, it will not support the dissolution of the coalition and will not join left-wing opposition parties."
