The actress Feyza Civelek, who plays the character 'Nilay' in the series Kızılcık Şerbeti, will be prosecuted due to a threatening message she sent via social media to her ex-boyfriend's friend. The prosecutor's office has requested a prison sentence of up to 5 years for Civelek on charges of "threat" and "insult" in the indictment it prepared. The case will be heard in the Criminal Court of First Instance.
The young actress Feyza Civelek, who appears on screen as the character 'Nilay' in the series Kızılcık Şerbeti and is also the daughter of the series' screenwriter Melis Civelek, has become the center of a legal process due to her harsh posts on social media.
Civelek's harsh reaction to a comment made on a post by her ex-boyfriend Alican Kurt, with whom she ended a year-long relationship, has been taken to court. A comment made by Kurt's close friend Mert Wang on Instagram, saying "Don't be ridiculous," ignited the controversy.
Actress Civelek expressed her reaction to this comment via a private message. In her message, she stated, "You have never seen me in your life, how do you see yourself entitled to interfere in my relationship? I am one of the most recognized actresses in Turkey, you are ridiculous, you probably think of me as some low-class person like yourself. Is Alican going to act based on a comment from someone as unnecessary as you? I got your number, I will measure your height, if I hear you talking about me again, I will hang you from a bridge, people passing by will spit on your face, you pathetic male piece of trash."
PROSECUTION INVESTIGATED, LAWSUIT FILED
Following the threatening message, Mert Wang filed a complaint against Civelek with the prosecutor's office. In his petition, Wang stated that both threats and insults were committed, and that these words were intended to intimidate him.
Following the complaint, the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was completed in a short time. According to a report by Sabah, the prepared indictment included screenshots of Civelek's messages as evidence and emphasized that they were sufficient to file a lawsuit.
The indictment submitted to the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance requested a total of up to 5 years in prison for Feyza Civelek for the crimes of "threat" and "insult." The famous actress is set to appear before a judge in the coming months.
